These fabulous candlesticks are a perfect dash of color for the Sabbath or any special occasion! The motif includes colorful
cheerful Jerusalem scenes. The design was hand-painted with a brush using acrylic colors and then lacquered, with a brass
insert for the candle itself. Vivid and harmonious colors characterize the hand-painted wood.
As these pieces are covered with layers of lacquer and contain a brass candle insert, they are totally functional and
waterproof and may be hand-washed.
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Emanuel's style
of Judaic art is based upon a fusion of traditional motifs and ancient Jewish manuscripts with modern and Oriental art. Vivid
and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work, which is designed and crafted
in his Jerusalem studio.
